Screw Press

Overview

A Screw Press is an advanced sludge dewatering system designed to reduce sludge volume by separating water from sludge through a slow-speed screw mechanism and filtration screens. The system provides continuous operation, low power consumption, minimal maintenance, and efficient sludge dewatering for various wastewater treatment applications.

Screw Press technology is widely used in STP, ETP, CETP, WTP, Food Processing, Dairy, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Treatment Process Flow

Sludge Holding Tank → Polymer Dosing Unit → Flocculation Tank → Screw Press → Dewatered Sludge Cake → Filtrate Collection Tank

Working Principle

The conditioned sludge is fed into the screw press where a rotating screw conveys the sludge through a series of filtration screens. As the volume decreases along the screw shaft, pressure gradually increases, forcing water through the screens while retaining solids. The dewatered sludge cake is discharged from the outlet, and filtrate is collected separately.
