Filter Press
Overview
A Filter Press is a highly efficient sludge dewatering equipment used to separate solids from liquids through pressure filtration. The system consists of a series of filter plates covered with filter cloths, where sludge is pumped under pressure, retaining solids within the chambers while allowing filtrate to pass through.
Filter Press systems are widely used in ETP, STP, CETP, WTP, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Textile, Food Processing, and Metal Finishing Industries for sludge volume reduction and disposal cost minimization.
Treatment Process Flow
Sludge Holding Tank → Sludge Feed Pump → Filter Press → Filtrate Collection → Dewatered Sludge Cake Discharge
Working Principle
The sludge is pumped into the filter press chambers under pressure. Solids are retained by the filter cloth while water passes through the cloth and exits as filtrate. As filtration continues, a solid cake forms inside the chambers. Once the cycle is completed, the plates are opened and the dewatered sludge cake is discharged.
