Lamella Clarifier
Overview
A Lamella Clarifier is a compact and high-rate settling system designed for efficient solid-liquid separation in water and wastewater treatment applications. The system utilizes a series of inclined lamella plates (tube settlers) that significantly increase the effective settling area, allowing higher hydraulic loading rates and reduced footprint compared to conventional clarifiers.
Lamella Clarifiers are widely used in ETP, STP, WTP, CETP, RO Pretreatment, and Industrial Process Water Treatment Systems where space-saving and high clarification efficiency are critical.
Treatment Process Flow
Raw Water / Effluent → Coagulation & Flocculation → Lamella Clarifier → Clarified Water Tank → Filtration / Further Treatment
Working Principle
The influent enters the clarification zone where flocculated particles settle on the inclined lamella plates. The solids slide downward by gravity into the sludge hopper while clarified water flows upward and is collected through overflow launders.
